Videnscenter for Integration (VIFIN)
VIFIN (Resource Center for Integration) was established in 2002 by Vejle Municipality to collect, adapt, develop and disseminate best practices on migrant integration. A multi-sector Board, composed of representatives from the Municipality, labour union, employers’ confederation, Integration Council, and Region South Denmark oversees and sets its overall direction. VIFIN’s project portfolio demonstrates a diverse involvement in this field, ranging from promoting entrepreneurship among migrants, promoting non-violent behaviour among young people, diversity management, strategies to include ICT in integration, and venues for cultural exchange among migrants through networking, to promote active citizenship. VIFIN has a large network composed of language schools and learning institutions, NGOs, municipalities and regions and organisations engaged in integration work in Denmark and in Europe. The Center has a staff of 15 personnel, primarily experts in social science, teaching and digital technology.
